In yet another fatal incident, a 40-year-old woman died and her relative suffered minor injuries after a wall of an adjacent structure collapsed on their house in Mulund on Friday morning, December 30.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials stated that the incident took place at around 5:25 am at Hanuman Pada, Mulund Colony adding that the dilapidated single-storey house of which the wall crumbled was unoccupied.
The fire brigade rushed to the spot and cleared the debris at the accident site, he added. However, the fire brigade declared it to be a level- 01 incident.
The victim identified as Laxmibai Katade was taken to MT Agarwal Hospital in Mulund (west), where doctors declared her dead, the official added.
Meanwhile, the woman’s 50-year-old relative Raghunath Katade sustained minor injuries, and was discharged from the hospital after treatment.
