The Development Draft Review Committee has drafted a final development plan for 2014-34 after hearing objections and suggestions from the people. A workshop was organised on Thursday to let the newly elected corporators know about Development Plan (DP). Out of 227 corporators, only 169 of them attended this workshop. Many of them were allegedly not interested in learning more about Development Plan which is for next 20 years.
The State government had formed a six-member Development Draft Review Committee after receiving objections and suggestions from the people on Development Plan for 2014-34. The committee had submitted its report to the Mayor in the last term of BMC and it was discussed in the House. A demand to organise a workshop to inform the intricacies of Development Plan was raised in the BMC House.
Accordingly, the workshop was organised at the hall of Lokmanya Tilak civic hospital in Sion on Thursday. Many corporators, for whom this workshop was organised, did not attend this workshop. Those who gave a miss to this workshop were mostly newly elected corporators. All the Shiv Sena and the Congress corporators attended this workshop.
