By next year, motorists will be able to travel smoothly between Swami Vivekanand Road and Lokhandwala Complex for which the Brihanumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) demolished illegal structures on the Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR) extension.

As a part of the demolition, 19 big commercial structures were razed along with 60 of the total 550 commercial and residential structures. The demolition was carried out from New Link road to SV Road.

The 120-feet wide road was encroached due to illegal structures and was shrunk to 90-feet wide road. Under the supervision of deputy commissioner of Zone-4, Kiran Achrekar, the demolition went on for two days, informed assistant municipal commissioner Prashant Gaikwad.

Gaikwad added that along with other structures, Juhu’s Supreme Shopping Centre’s parking lot, the ground floor was also razed. 20 police helped the civic officials to carry out the demolition work.
