Sewree – A bhoomipujan of the public toilet was held at Amanshanti Nagar in Sewree East on the occasion of the World Toilet Day on Saturday. MLA Ajay Chaudhari, assistant municipal commissioner of F-South ward Vishwas Mote, corporator Mamta Chemburkar, Shweta Rane, shakha pramukh Vijay Mhatre, Rupesh Dherange and other BMC officials were present on this occasion. It is to be mentioned here that there was no public toilet in this area from last 20 years. This had been causing inconvenience to general public. As the area falls under the jurisdiction of the Mumbai Port Trust, the permission for toilet construction was not given. With prime minister’s Swachha Bharat Abhiyan, the permission was given within a year, informed Vishwas Mote.
