For the second time round, developers have thumbed their nose at the BDD chawl redevelopment plan at Naigaon and Delisle Road.

MHADA Mumbai circle has extended the time limit for filing tenders by another 15 days to enable builders to come forward with their proposals, according to MHADA vice president Sambhaji Zende.

International tenders were floated for the BDD chawl redevelopment plan. However, the project has been stuck for want of tenders. The earlier deadline too did not get the requisite number of tenders, which led to the extension of the deadline to 27 February. However, only two tenders have been received till yesterday, forcing the authority to extend the deadline by another fortnight.

Zende told Mumbai Live that if the requisite number of tenders are not received even by the new deadline, a decision would be taken on the future of the BDD redevelopment plan.
