The lottery for a total of 4,466 houses has been made available under the special housing scheme for the police, and the same was expected to be announced on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. As per reports, the announcement was to be made at CIDCO office in Navi Mumbai in the afternoon.

CIDCO Corporation launched a special housing scheme for police personnel on July 27, 2020, whereby 4,466 houses were made available under this scheme for police personnel in five divisions of Taloja, Kharghar, Kalamboli, Ghansoli and Dronagiri in Navi Mumbai.

The houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which are available for the economically weaker sections and low-income groups, are reserved only for police staff working in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). Of these houses, 1,057 are dedicated for the economically weaker sections and 3,409 houses are assigned for the officers from the low-income groups.

Registration for the same started through online applications, from July 27, 2020, and officials stated that the response to this scheme was good. All the procedures like application registration, payment of fees etc. were carried out in a transparent manner.

Officials also stated that the draw was scheduled via a LIVE telecast on the official website, to ensure applicants can follow the same and view the results at home.
