Thane: Drainage work underway near Dnyansadhana College

The Thane Municipal Commissioner (TMC) Abhijit Bangar recently inspected the ongoing work of the road connecting Wagle Estate under the new corner bridge in front of Satish Pradhan Dnyansadhna College in Thane. He instructed the concerned authorities to complete the work of diverting the drain in front of Dnyansadhana College and the proposed road within the prescribed period.

The speed of the work should be expedited and must be completed by March 15 only then the MMRDA will be able to complete the remaining work by May 31st, said TMC Commissioner Bangar. He also directed to continue this work for 24 hours in three shifts. The commissioner also mentioned that the MMRDA should continue to follow up in this regard so that the work of the proposed road is completed by May 31.

The construction of the new bridge connecting Kopri East will help reduce the traffic load on the three-armed bridge. It will be convenient for the residents of Kopri, Thane Station, Gokhale Road to use the said road to reach Wagle Estate. At present, the students coming to Dnyansadhana College have to come through three roads, but after the completion of the said work, it will be easier to use this alternative road.

Similarly, instructions were given to inspect the entire road from Kamgar Hospital Naka to Indira Nagar Naka and complete the work of the drain which is in partial condition and to continue the work of the road till the footpath.

In some places, it was noticed that the cover of the machine hole on the road was in a broken state, it is very necessary to complete all these works prior monsoon and instructions were also given to take precautions in order to avoid any accident.
