Ghatkopar - Mumbai is undergoing transformation, with Metro projects in the pipeline. And all this is being done to improve the public transportation systems.
In regard with this, a shocking incident has come into light where in Mumbai Metro - 1 project is under the scanner. The aluminium composite panels on the boundary walls of the metro are tied with thin wires. On 21 January, one of the panels broke and fell onto the overhead wire.
No casualties were reported, but the quality of construction is now being questioned.
In connection with this, Mumbai Metro-1 PRO Amit Biswal told Mumbai Live,"We have orderd an enquiry into the work by the contractor. The quality of aluminium is also to be tested."
Is this the way Mumbai is speeding up, hope not?
