Wadala - On one hand BMC talks about maintaining cleanliness and on another hand it is not able to maintain its installations at Wadala’s General Arun Kumar Vaidya road.
Ganesh Nagar, Shanti Nagar, Korba Mithagar and Anand Nagar have no toilets, so they demanded one from F/ North ward. Likewise, the BMC arranged six mobile toilets which were stationed by the roadside.
Initially, residents, used it until it had water. However, in a month’s time, there was no water connection in the toilets and residents have stopped using it. As if this was not enough, sanitation workers abandoned the toilets due to water woes. This is causing inconvenience to the residents who have to face the stink. “F/ North ward civic officials are responsible for this situation. They should have kept a tab on these toilets,” said Sanjay Randive, social activist.
For now, F/North admin officer Rajas Shelke has assured that they will solve this issue and will also appoint sanitation workers to clean up the toilets.
