Parking is a major problem in rapidly developing cities and various measures are implemented to solve it. CIDCO is being followed up frequently through the Municipal Corporation for parking planning in the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation area. Accordingly, two plots in CBD Belapur section and one plot in Vashi section have been made available for parking facility through CIDCO.
Out of this, in sector 15 Belapur multi storey parking is being developed on plot no.39 and during the actual inspection of this work, the NMMC Commissioner Rajesh Narvekar directed to complete this work in the next 3 months.
Facilities for parking 476 four-wheelers and 121 two-wheelers have been provided in this multi-storied parking lot. An entrance to the parking lot is placed in front of the Naga Gana Patil park in the east direction. There is an entrance from the west side to exit this parking lot.
The commissioner directed the licensing department to verify from all sides whether it is possible to provide facilities for advertisement by placing a digital board on the front of the parking lot on the eastern side of the parking lot. By this the municipal corporation can get income. Apart from this, the commissioner also directed that the information about the current availability of parking in front of the parking lot should be displayed on the digital board.
The commissioner also directed that the number of electric vehicles will increase in the coming time and for that, adequate charging station facilities should be made available at this place. At this time, the commissioner informed that since there is an electrical substation of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) next to the parking lot, the work of this multi-storey parking lot has been started after considering it and making necessary changes in the design of the building accordingly.
Another such parking space has been made available in CBD Belapur division and the Commissioner has instructed to take action to develop the parking space on the plot by asphalting and marking strips for parking vehicles.

A discussion meeting with the traffic police and police department regarding parking planning in the entire Navi Mumbai city has been concluded recently and after the discussion, instructions have been given to the engineering department and all department offices to survey the existing parking condition within 15 days. Accordingly, survey proceedings are underway. Commissioner ordered the said survey to be completed quickly and submit its report.
