India’s first pod hotel will soon be launched in Mumbai Central railway station. According to reports, Minister of State for Railways Raosaheb Danve will be inaugurating the pod hotel tomorrow, November 17.

India's one-of-its-kind pod hotel is now available for all at Mumbai Central railway station. According to reports, Union Minister of State for Railways Raosaheb Danve will be inaugurating the pod hotel tomorrow, November 17.

Moreover, the minister is also inaugurated Road Over Bridge between Charni Road and Grant Road railway stations.

The Japanese-style pod hotel will be available for all the passengers for 12 and 24 hours at the cost of INR 999 and INR 1,999 respectively. Also, a private pod for 12 and 24 hours is priced at INR 1,249 and INR 2,499 respectively.

Moreover, it will feature a building with several small bed-sized capsules or pods that offer overnight stay to the passengers. The waiting rooms, located on the first floor of the station, is being used for the purpose.

The pods will have features such as WiFi, air conditioning, key card access, washrooms and CCTV surveillance apart from other basic amenities. It is also likely to have 5 only-shower units.

The passengers also have a television, charging points and a reading light inside the pods. 

It has 48 capsule-like rooms, including classic pods, private pods and separate pods for women. It will also have separate beds for differently-abled people.

Meanwhile, recently the Central Railways launched a "Restaurant on Wheels" at CSMT station. The restaurant has been made using a discarded rail coach which will become a landmark eating house in this area. Interestingly, this restaurant will be open 24 hours a day.
