Metro 3: Key Infrastructure Works Carried Out at Two Stations

The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) has concluded slabbing works at Hutatma Chowk and Mumbai Central stations of the Metro 3 (Colaba-Bandra-Seepz) corridor this week. 

The corridor will cover a total of 326 stations. The agency has reportedly finished the process of casting roof slabs at six stations so far.

The MMRCL further said that it has finished 100 per cent of the tunnelling works in six of the seven contract packages. Meanwhile, 77 per cent of tunnelling works have concluded on the third package, the agency said. 

Officials from the MMRCL explained that the agency has finished 52.6 kilometres of tunnelling, which is 96.5 per cent of the corridor.

The agency has concluded casting roof slabs in stations like Vidhan Bhavan, Marol, MIDC, and SEEPZ stations. Officials said that escalator works have already begun in some stations.
