Metro axe to fall on Mithi river

Mumbai - Environmentalists are fighting against the MMRDA's decision of axing trees in regard to Metro - 3 scheme. 154 trees at the bank of Mithi river will be cut down. MMRC has sent the proposal for cutting the trees to tree authority in Mumbai. Save Tree organisation has challenged Bombay High Court in the matter. CM Fadnavis has assured that a committee will be set up to study the impact and minimise loss of trees. If the permission is granted, Mumbaikars must be ready to face the consequences.
