It has been decided to extend the application selling and acceptance process for allotment of 4,082 houses in the Mumbai division of MHADA till July 10. The proposal in this regard has been sent to the MHADA Vice President and an official announcement will be made after the approval of the proposal. As the deadline for acceptance of applications will be extended, now the lottery will also be delayed. The draw scheduled for July 18 is now likely to be held in the last week of July or the first week of August.


After four years, the lot of 4,082 houses has been announced and for this, the application and acceptance process has been going on since May 22. This year the draw is being conducted with a new computerised system and a new change. According to the new procedure, it is mandatory to submit the required documents while applying. At such a time many aspirants are not able to apply as the documents are not available in time. That is why the response to the draw was less. In this background, the board has decided to extend the pre-draw process. Mumbai Board Chief Officer Milind Borikar informed Loksatta that the proposal to extend the deadline will be approved by the Vice President soon. He also said that an official announcement of the extension will be made once the proposal is approved.

As per the proposal of the Mumbai Board, the deadline for acceptance of applications will be extended till July 10. Due to this, the deadline for filing the application along with the deposit amount till June 26 is likely to be extended till July 8. The deadline for filing the application along with deposit with RTGS-NEFT is likely to be July 10 instead of June 28. Due to this extension, the draw scheduled for July 18 will be postponed.


46k applications filed with deposit amount

69,804 people have filled applications for 4,082 houses in Mumbai from May 22 to June 22 (till 6 pm) i.e. within a period of one month. Out of this 46k applicants have submitted applications with a deposit amount. The Mumbai Board hopes that by extending the deadline, the number of applications submitted with the deposit amount will increase.
