MHADA Building No. 54, 55, 56 owned by the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) in Vartak Nagar were evicted by the Municipal Corporation. The lottery was held at Kashinath Ghanekar Theatre. Eligible flat holders were given possession of flats by MLA Pratap Sarnaik. 


Additional Commissioner 1 Sandeep Malvi, Additional Commissioner 2 Sanjay Herwade, Deputy Commissioner Manish Joshi, Assistant Commissioner Akshay Gudhe, Ex-Corporator Vimal Bhoir, Radhika Phatak, Ex-Corporator Vikrant Chavan etc. were present in this program.


MHADA building number 54, 55, 56 in Vartak Nagar housed the rehabilitation of residents affected by various projects and road widening of Thane Municipal Corporation and 57 municipal employees. The buildings were evicted by the Municipal Corporation as they were dangerous. Regarding the reconstruction of this building and rehabilitation of the affected and municipal employees in the same place, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had an insistent role.

Accordingly, a new building was constructed on the said PPP plot basis. In this newly constructed building, 130 eligible affected flat holders were distributed with permanent ownership rights and 57 municipal employees were given temporary flats till service. According to the instructions of Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar, under the guidance of Additional Commissioner 1 and 2, in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Manish Joshi, the lottery of flats was drawn in a very transparent computerised manner.


This building, built on PPP principle, has two wings namely A and B and has a total of 30 floors. The A and B wings of the building have six flats on each floor. 130 flats up to the 23rd floor in A wing and 57 flats up to 10th floor in B wing were distributed to the affected residents. These flats are 1BHK of 269 sq.ft.
