The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has announced bids for advisors to help pick general consultants for the Metro 5, Metro 7A and Metro 9 lines of the Mumbai Metro Rail.
As per recent estimates, the authorities have already undertaken work on all the three Metro lines with work expected to be concluded by 2024. This also includes some changes in alignment on the path of Metro Line 5. These details were provided by the Metropolitan Commissioner of the MMRDA, RA Rajeev.

Those interested in the tender can visit the MMRDA’s portal between Feb 12, 2020, to March 23, 2020. Interested bidders are also required to pay a tender document cost of Rs 5,900 before going ahead. The officials will open the tender on the 24th of March at 11:00 AM.
It is said that the proposed work will cost Rs 64.32 crore and interested tenderers will have to make a security deposit of Rs 64.32 lakh before placing their bids.
The proposed work will include Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan (Metro Line 5), Andheri East to CSIA (Metro Line 7A) and Dahisar East to Mira Bhayender (Metro Line 9).

The MMRDA has been pursuing the development of its Metro infrastructure aggressively with two new lines expected to open by 2020. While the aforementioned project will take until 2024 to finish, citizens of Mumbai can expect to see new Metro lines becoming operational between now and then.
