MMRDA To Implement Integrated Ticketing System For Upcoming Metro Lines

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is slated to implement an integrated ticketing system for the upcoming Metro line 2A and 7 which is anticipated to be operational by early next year, stated reports.

This information was brought to light owing to a Right to Information plea filed by Adv Godfrey Pimenta, a Mumbai-based activist. To this, the MMRDA gave a response that it would be implementing the said ticketing system. Adding that it hopes to implement it to all other public transport systems in the MMR.

Based on accounts, it has been claimed that the State Bank of India (SBI) has been put appointed as the banking partner and card issuing integration services for the amalgamated ticketing system.

The Metro line 2A is slated to ply between Dahisar and DN Nagar. Line 7 on the other hand will ply from Dahisar East to Andheri East. They will pass through the Link Road and the Western Express Highway respectively.

From this Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd is conducted the dynamic trial run on the 20 km stretch from the total 37 km. Recently it completely the trial run and is awaiting certification from the Research Designs and Standards Organization, it stated in its reply.
