It was another wet Saturday for Mumbaikars. Parts of the city received heavy to very heavy rainfall. There were several reports of water-logging and traffic snarls. While Western Railways continued to function with some minor delays, the same could not be said about the bus services. BEST buses had to change 51 routes due to water-logging. The areas that were worst affected included Chunabhatti, Kurla, King's Circle, Hindmata, Malad, Kandivali, and Sion.

From 8:30 AM to 5:30 Pm Santa Cruz observatory had recorded 46.8mm rain and that in Colaba was 49.6mm.

As per IMD’s forecast, Mumbai is likely to witness “heavy to very heavy rainfall in the city and adjoining areas on Sunday and Monday and it has cautioned people to stay safe. Predictions for heavy rainfall on September 8 had been issue earlier as well and Met department has sounded an orange alert for that date. Fortunately, there are no mega blocks for that day but there can be heavy traffic due to Ganpati Visarjan.
