Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced that it will be carrying out repairs to the Chlorine Injection Point at Yevai. As a result, the city will have to face another water cut next week.

The BMC announced a 15 per cent water cut from 10 am on January 5 to 10 am on January 6, 2021.

Moreover, the civic body also said that almost all parts of south and central Mumbai would face the water cut except the F-South (Parel) and F-North (Dadar East, Matunga) wards, whereas all of the western suburbs and eastern suburbs would be affected by the 15 per cent water cut.

The 24-hour water cut was imposed due to repairs of the chlorine injection points at Yewai on the water lines that supply water from the Vaitarna lake, said officials.

Last month, the BMC had carried out repairs to another Chlorine Injection Point and replaced a valve on December 22 owing to which there was a water cut at the time.
