The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in India, is nearing completion, and the photos of its Virar section are now out.

Cabinet Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, shared these images on Twitter, which showcase the stunning views from the Vadodara-Virar section of the expressway.

Gadkari stated, "Limiting the distance for a prosperous India," in his tweet, highlighting the significance of the expressway for the country's development.

The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is a crucial infrastructure project that aims to connect the two major cities of India, Delhi and Mumbai, with a high-speed, world-class expressway. The expressway will not only reduce the travel time between the two cities but also boost the economic growth of the regions it passes through. The project was proposed several years ago and construction began in 2018. The completion for the entire expressway is expected to happen soon.

The expressway is approximately 1,300 kilometers long and comprises of eight lanes. It will have several interchanges and service roads, providing easy connectivity to the cities and towns on its route. It will also have state-of-the-art facilities such as rest areas, fuel stations, and emergency service centers. It will also have a dedicated lane for electric vehicles, making it one of the most advanced expressways in the world. The road is expected to provide a major boost to the country's transport infrastructure, making travel faster, safer, and more comfortable for commuters.

The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will connect two of India's major urban centers, Delhi and Mumbai, through a high-speed corridor. It will run through the Delhi-Faridabad-Sohna section and include a spur to Jewar Airport and Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Mumbai.

As part of the National Highways Authority of India's (NHAI) commitment to environmental conservation, the expressway will include the planting of over two million trees and shrubs along the highway.

Additionally, this expressway is a first in Asia and one of the few in the world to feature animal overpasses, to allow for the unrestricted movement of wildlife. With a top speed of 120 kmph, the expressway will significantly reduce travel time between Delhi and Mumbai from 25-30 hours to just 12 hours.
