As per reports, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has completed construction of all the slabs at the Seepz station in Mumbai.

With this, MMRC has completed “Package 7” of the construction of slabs at three stations, namely, Marol Naka, MIDC and now Seepz. Earlier, the officials had informed that the underground work has been completed 100 per cent in four out of the seven packages on the proposed Metro 3 project. The underground work in "Package 4" was a bit of a challenge as all the development works in this package were closer to road transports and religious places of worship.

The tunnelling was completed by Krishna-1, a TBM manufactured by Herrenknecht Company which incorporated the Earth Pressure Balance (EPB) technology. This phase of work was started on July 7, 2020, and the downline work has been completed using 805 rings.

Meanwhile, in recent developments, officials have also stated that they are to use a Swiss machine for vibration control on Metro 3 tracks, and by implementing this on the Colaba-Bandra-Seepz, the journey is expected to be even more comfortable for the commuters travelling on the route.

This initiative of the project also marks the first time such developments to have implemented for a metro project in the country, and reports state that the MMRCL team will be laying the vibration absorbing tracks soon, and the trial production of the same has begun. As per reports, officials will be laying the High Vibration Attenuation Booted Twin Sleeper Blocks (HVABTSB) using the Swiss machine.
