State Government Earns Over INR 12,000 Crore in Revenue from House Sales

In the month of December, more than 12,000 houses were sold in Mumbai and the state government got INR 1,116 crore as stamp duty from these house sales. There has been a big increase in home sales in December compared to November. At the same time, a total of 130,000 houses have been sold in Mumbai during the period from January to December 2024. The state government has got a revenue of more than 12 thousand 175 crore rupees from this house sale.

After the corona period, many people have increased the tendency to buy a rightful house. Accordingly, the demand for houses has also increased. That is why in 2024 more than one lakh 30 thousand houses were sold in Mumbai. Revenue of 12 thousand 172 crore rupees has been received in the form of stamp duty from this house sale. 2024 has been a satisfactory year in terms of house sales. This year, house sales have crossed the 10,000 mark in all other months except September. Only 9,111 houses were sold in September, generating a revenue of INR 876 crore.

Whereas in March, the highest number of 14,149 houses were sold and from this stamp duty was collected at INR 1122 crore. House sales in January and November were under 11 thousand. In the rest of the month, the house has been sold between 11,000 and 13,000. At the end of the year, house sales crossed the 12 thousand mark in December. In December (till 1 pm) 12,193 houses were sold and the state government got a revenue of INR 1116 crore.
