After TATA Capacite won the bid kept by Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) for the redevelopment of BDD chawls in Worli, the development work can finally start without any further delays.

Earlier in April 2017, MHADA raised the tenders for the redevelopment of BDD chawls and the allocation for the same was done on this Thursday. The process was stuck until now as Shapoorji Pallonji Group filed a case against MHADA for not accepting their request for the tender.

However, the case is settled now as the Supreme Court ordered in favour of MHADA and rejected the claim of Shapoorji Pallonji Group. This issue was resolved in a duration of four months.

After that, the finalisation of the tender was initiated again and TATA-led group got the tender, a senior official from MHADA’s Mumbai Board informed. Now, the redevelopment of Worli’s BDD chawl will start soon.
