The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has taken up the construction of nine footbridges on the 'Dahisar-Gundavali Metro 7' route to provide convenience and ease of travel to the passengers. Out of the nine, two footbridges at National Park and Dindoshi have been completed. Therefore, from today (Thursday) both these bridges have been put into service for pedestrians. Now it will be easy for the passengers to reach the metro station.


The 'Metro 7' route started running at full capacity in January. Now the number of passengers travelling by 'Metro 7' is increasing. The MMRDA has decided to construct a footbridge to provide better facilities to the passengers, as well as to attract the passengers. Accordingly, nine bridges are being constructed. These bridges are being constructed so that the metro station can be accessible from the western expressway.

The footbridges at National Park and Dindoshi have been put into service for pedestrians from Thursday. Metropolitan Commissioner S. V. R. Srinivas inaugurated both these bridges on Thursday morning. The National Park footbridge is 83 metres long and four metres wide, while the Dindoshi footbridge is 112 metres long and four metres wide. 


The National Park Bridge will make it easier to reach the National Park Metro Station from the Expressway, while the Dindoshi Bridge will make it easier to reach the Dindoshi Metro Station from the Expressway.
