Surrounded by water, and dotted with lakes. And yet, Mumbai continues to suffer water woes every summer. The financial capital of the country is still unable to provide a regular water supply to most of its denizens. The rich make do with water from private tankers, and the poor spend hours with empty vessels at communal water taps.
Mumbai Live decided to ask Mumbaikars how they feel about the situation of potable water in the city. Most expressed ire that the water problems are addressed only during election times when promises are made, and quickly forgotten afterwards. Can Mumbai ever have sustainable water solutions?
