Bollywood and Hollywood converge at Dior's Mumbai show

Many Hollywood stars of Indian origin were also invited, adding to the star-studded affair. Actresses Simone Ashley and Poorna Jagannathan, singer Anoushka Shankar, and tabla virtuoso Anuradha Pal were among the guests.

Luxury fashion house Dior brought its pre-fall fashion show to Mumbai on a high note on Thursday evening, March 30, at 8:30 pm. The iconic Gateway of India served as a fitting backdrop for the star-studded event, which drew a mix of Bollywood, Hollywood, and Thai film industry stars.

Dior showcased its latest collection. Many Hollywood stars of Indian origin were also invited, adding to the star-studded affair. Actresses Simone Ashley and Poorna Jagannathan, singer Anoushka Shankar, and tabla virtuoso Anuradha Pal were among the guests who showed up to admire the new collection. 

However, it was legendary Indian actress Rekha who stole the show, arriving in a red and gold saree and posing for photographs with guests. Dior's Creative Director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, also met legendary Indian actress Rekha at the event and posted on her Instagram about her experience with the legendary actress.

Bollywood stars turned up in droves to the event, with the likes of Anushka Sharma-Virat Kohli, Sonam Kapoor, Ananya Panday, Isha Ambani with Radhika Merchant, Arjun Kapoor, Mira Rajput, Diana Penty, and Athiya Shetty all in attendance. Dior shared images of the stars wearing its clothing on social media, generating a buzz on various platforms. 

Myra Rampal, the daughter of actor Arjun Rampal and supermodel Mehr Jesia, made her runway debut at the show. In a fun trivia, Radhika Merchant and Isha Ambani were spotted carrying the same bag, adding to the fashion extravaganza. Notably several Indian fashion designers, including Manish Malhotra, Rohit Bal, and Sabyasachi, were absent.
