City's highly anticipated social event, the Kingfisher Ultra Indian Derby, is back with a new edition in 2019. Fourteen runners including Sir Cecil will participate in the derby scheduled on January 2 and 3, 2019, at the Royal Western India Turf Club in Mumbai. Sir Cecil, the unbeaten champion, has won 8 starts including the 1st leg of the Indian Triple which includes the Kingfisher Ultra Indian Derby as the second leg and the jewel of the crown.

The countdown to the event began with ‘Breakfast with the Champions’ which was held on January 31, 2019. The event was attended by many enthusiasts who enjoyed a morning full of interesting activities, planned keeping the race and excitement in mind. It was the first serious Derby related activated when the Derby contenders spoke about prep work. This was followed by a tour of the restricted stable area at the RWITC, where attended got insights on various aspects such as shoeing a horse, their swimming regimen and the training on the treadmill.

The countdown will be followed by a horse racing carnival over the weekend. The Saturday race night will continue into a Derby party as Forefront and DJ Chico are all set to entertain all the attendees that evening. Sunday will boast of arguably the best race day ever assembled in India. Sir Cecil along with other popular horses like Augustus Caeser, Adjudicate, Vintage, Star Superior, Merlot, Valegro, Bluebell, Bishops, Sacred Roman, Eyes for you, Mr. Handsome, Tasawwur and Pioneer, will compete against each other to win the coveted title, and the total prize money of the Kingfisher Ultra Indian Derby - ₹2 Crore. 

Over 30,000 guests, including many of Mumbai’s crème-de-la–crème are expected at this iconic event which includes a lot of entertainment gourmet food, plenty of beverages for all.
