There's nothing in the world quite like the holiday season, and Mumbaikars recently enjoyed this festive cheer from  at India’s Biggest Christmas Festival – World of Christmas. Redefining Christmas celebrations, this market had everything one would expect of a classic European Christmas market: the food, the shopping, the twinkling lights and loads of festive cheer. With its Christmas decor, festive cuisines, live performances and a Christmas market full of festive products from different parts of the world - World of Christmas was truly a fairytale which came to life.

World of Christmas also hosted many musicians at the event, who entertained the audience with their specially curated performances. Renowned names like The Vindaloos (TV), Raghav Meattle (RM), Mickey and Tash (MT), plus others crooned, making the festive season special.

Here's what they said on what Christmas meant to them,

  • TV: Christmas is like the entire year has saved the best for last. It is a time for friends and family. Food, fun and fiesta.
  • RM: Christmas is just a really happy time when the weather is good, people take some time off to be with their families and eat good food, along with great music of course!
  • MT: Keepin them trees LIT! Spreading good vibes & smiles. Sharing love and good music.

On being asked about this initiative by High Street Phoenix, the bands shared,

  • TV: It's wonderful getting so many different bands together on one platform. Music lovers get to experience so much more and musicians get a great opportunity to perform for an amazing audience.
  • RM: I think it's great concept because people are always looking to do something new for Christmas and music is the best way for people to celebrate.
  • MT: it'll help framing a positive future for the younger ones - Urban Hippie Mr Mickey

Concluding the chat by talking about the special performances planned for this special occasion, they said,

  • TV: We brought the Christmas spirit the only way we know how... with some wonderful music
  • RM: We planned a groovy, uptempo set for people to dance with us! Hopefully, it resonated with people of all age groups!
  • MT: Mickey performed his unreleased song & soon to be city anthem "Bomb-Bay" for his city live, along with a couple of latest releases like "I Feel blessed" spreading good vibes for the kids listening and watching the show in a power packed Christmas performance, accompanied on stage by Jay Killa, who also performed a motivational unreleased track called "when my time comes" followed by performances from the freshly launched music album "SMO'kin Christmas '19" put together by Tash, which includes 53 artists collaborating into a melting pot of music, on 16 tracks, ending with the original track from the album "Let it Snow" featuring Tash & Urban Hippie Mr Mickey along with two other artists; Jay killa & Scarlett victim.

One thing that stood out at this market, though, was the entertainment - stage performances and off stage acts throughout the festival, immersive games and activities including the Santa Ride through VR, Carnival Games, Santa’s Cottage and the Snow Blizzrd.
