Soon, Mumbaikars will get to dine in two new floatels that will come up near Bandra-Worli Sea Link and the other in Panvel creek. Currently, there are two floatels in Mahim Bay- AB Celestial and Mumbai Maiden.

The Maharashtra Maritime Board (MMB) said that it has now received a proposal for two floatels, one to be anchored in Mahim Bay and second for Navi Mumbai. Along with this, by November end, South Mumbai will be getting two more floatels, near Gateway of India.

Vikram Kumar, the Chief Executive Officer of MMB said that the board has finalised a private operator to run the Panvel Creek floatel. He added that they are also discussing with a private operator for a floatel near the sea link.

An official added MMB is also planning to set up water sports at Mumbai beaches and across the state to boost tourism.
