Country’s popular fashion event, Lakme Fashion Week (LFW), is around the corner. Designers showcasing their collection are all set to make a mark at the prestigious event. Every year, the organizers of LFW present shows which are high on creativity and ideas – all in sync with the collection designed by the talented designer.
This year too, designer Sanjay Garg will be showcasing his collection at Mumbai’s iconic Royal Opera House, and this will be a part of the finale show on Day 1 of Winter/Festive 2017, which will start from August 16.
At this show, Lakmé will go back to its very inception, as the brand name was inspired by a French Opera named Lakmé, which in turn derives its name from a reference to Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth. As the guest of honour LFW will be welcoming Mrs. Simone Tata, the lady who steered the brand forward after Naval Tata established it in the 1950s. The foresight of Naval Tata and the vision of Simone Tata made the brand synonymous with the definition of Indian beauty.
Watching the saga, that Lakmé has created over the years, unfold at a legendary location, promises to take everyone down memory lane.
Talking about the Garg’s show, Lakme’s Head of Innovation, Purnima Lamba, said, "Opera is the legacy of Lakme, with the origins of our name being traced back to a French Opera, called Lakme. We look forward to a theatrical extravaganza on opening night."
The five-day fashion week is going to take place at Mumbai’s St. Regis hotel.
