Bandra - On Tuesday a cycle marathon was organised from Bandra fort to Carter road. What made this marathon special was the way participants dressed for it. It was the marathon for women who were dressed in nine yard saree, a traditional Maharashtrian attire.
This marathon was called pinkathon to create awareness about breast cancer and to advocate emancipation of women. Actor Milind Soman was there too to support the cause. Women's attire has always been the cynosure of criticism so to protest against this the women donned nine-yard sarees. A foreigner also joined this pinkathon donning a saree. Mumbai live salutes the spirit of this pinkathon.
