Both the Marathi and Hindi Film Industry are excited about Baba, the first Marathi film being produced by Sanjay Dutt and his wife Maanayata Dutt. The first trailer of the film was released by Sanjay Dutt in the presence of entire cast and crew of the film. The trailer has further increased the curiosity about the film as it gives the glimpse of the story and hints at the twists and turns Baba has to offer.

The first trailer of the film was released on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, on Tuesday, July 16  in the presence of actors Deepak Dobriyal, Nandita Patkar, Spruha Joshi, Abhijeet Khandkekar, Chittaranjan Giri, Jaywant Wadkar, Shailesh Datar,Jayant Gadekar, child artist Aaryan Menghji and entire cast & crew of film.  Director Raj R Gupta, producers Maanayata Dutt & Ashok Subhedar too were present on the occasion.

Baba is co-produced under their banner Sanjay S Dutt Productions, with Ashok and Aarti Subhedar of Blue Mustang Creations. The Poster had Created a lot of Buzz around the Movie and the Teaser has already gone Viral given the content and the star cast. The first most awaited song from the film, ‘Adgula Madgula’ released last week has been well received by the audience and has been making rounds on social media. The glimpses of the film brought forward in bits and pieces have further induced the curiosity about the film. The trailer released on Tuesday reinforced the fact that the film has its own class.


From the trailer, this looks the story of a unique & poor couple staying far away from a bustling village. By grace, their world is silent yet they are very happy and contended. They have an eight-year-old adorable son who also does not speak. One day a high profile couple comes to their home to take the boy away from them. Local police intervene and advise them to seek legal claim through the court if they so believe. Through the ups and downs of legal battle and his personal challenges, does a father’s love succeed in retaining his beloved child or not is the story of the film, Baba. Slated to release on August 2, 2019, the audience will have to wait and see this beautifully shot film in picturesque Konkan

The film is directed by Raj R Gupta and produced by Sanjay S Dutt Productions & Blue Mustang Creations.

Sanjay Dutt had announced the film on his twitter handle a few weeks ago. In a spree of tweets, he had expressed his feelings about the film over his twitter handle. He has said, “Dedicating our first Marathi Film BABA to the Person who remained Steadfast in my life through everything! Love you Dad! Our first song is out now. Catch the fun bond between father and son from our song Adgula Madgula.”

Maanayata Dutt too had tweeted, Dedicating our 1st Marathi Film Baba to the one and Only Sunil Dutt Sahab, whose rock-solid support always enhanced our Confidence!” While expressing about the song, she had tweeted, “Here is our 1st song Adgula Madgula, one of my favorite songs of the film…out now”

On the release of Teaser, Ashok Subhedar of Blue Mustang Creations expressed his excitement and was eager to share stories behind the making of this wonderful film “BABA” This is a story written by Manish Singh – Baba is a beautiful story of a father and his son. Set in a scenic village in a coastal village of Konkan, this is a story that will resonate with every age group, for its simplicity and innocence”.

Raj R Gupta, the Director of the film said “I truly believe emotions have no language and this has been beautifully conveyed by the actors in our film. It is a bittersweet tale of how a family strives to stay together despite all odds”.

The film is directed by Raj R Gupta and the music is by Rohan Rohan while the background score is by Susmit Limaye.
