THE MVMNT, an independent hip hop collective and record label co-founded by veteran producer Sez on the Beat, comprising rappers Yungsta, DAKAIT, Aniket Raturi and Lit Happu, today put out a genre-defining 8-track album titled ‘Chaand Paar’. The album also features prominent names such as Mumbai-based rapper MC Altaf and singer-songwriter Anumita Nadesan of Instagram fame.
Chaand Paar is about relentlessly chasing one’s dreams and fulfilling one’s true potential. For THE MVMNT, it represents their vision to build a legacy in hip hop history.
Sez on the Beat, the creative genius behind the music of Mere Gully Mein and Jungli Sher from the film Gully Boy, displays his versatility by creating a unique sonic landscape for this album. Chaand Paar features hard hitting bangers like Loot and Aar Ya Paar; introspective, understated and melodic tunes Nirvana and Dooba Dooba; an inspirational title track Chaand Paar; the experimental and gritty Namakool; to high energy club tracks like Baller and Hit Hai. All the music was created, mixed and mastered in Sez on the Beat’s home studio in Delhi.
The project first kicked off in November 2021 with the title track ‘Chaand Paar’ and THE MVMNT’s debut NFT collection ‘The Moonhead Series’, which sold out within 48 hours of the launch.
Speaking about the album, Sez on the Beat said: “Chaand Paar is our step towards cementing our legacy, a debut project where everyone merged comfort zone with experimentation in order to explore a sound that’s beyond regular for all of us. A project full of synergy - full of personal expressions - no holds barred - aiming straight for the moon and beyond. It’s Chaand Paar fam.”
