Renowned ghazal maestro Pankaj Udhas who has sung many popular songs will soon be debuting in the Marathi music space with a single. As per reports, he has collaborated with Kavita Paudwal for a Marathi Bhavgeet single, titled "Ranga Dhanoocha Zhula".
Composed by Ashok Patki, the song 'Ranga Dhanoocha Zhula,' the song is written by Mandar Cholkar.
Talking about this debut, he said, "This is for the first time that I am singing in Marathi in my three decade old music career, despite staying in Mumbai all these years. I am extremely happy to collaborate with Kavita and Ashok Patkiji for this extremely soulful rendition. I am sure the song will touch the hearts of the Marathi music lovers globally."
Sharing her thought on the collaboration, Kavita Paudwal said that it was Anuradha Paudwal's idea to collaborate with the legendary Pankaj Udhas as his style of singing goes beautifully with the genre. "He is so popular worldwide and his music is timeless. With all of this combined with Ashok Patki's composition we have tried to create a right combination of old school melody and contemporary look and feel," she added.
Over a career spanning more than three decades Pankaj Udhas has given memorable hits like Chandi jaisa rang, Aap jinke kareeb hote hain, Sabko maloom hai main sharaabi nahin and others. Besides these, his songs from films like Naam, Saajan, and Mohra are also popular till date.
