Nagpada- Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi lashed out at the Congress on Thursday, saying, “There is no single leader in the Congress who will fight for the Muslim community. They only run after red beacon cars.”
However, Azmi praised Congress leader Narayan Rane saying that the SP party needs leaders like Rane. He advised the Muslim community to cast their votes wisely. In another dig at the government, Azmi said that masjids are asked to stop the azan in the event of a terrorist attack, but the similar diktat does not apply to the Siddhivinayak temple. He added that the government is looking to nab Dawood Ibrahim in connection with the 1993 Mumbai blasts, but the government does not wish to book Bal Thackeray in connection with the Babri Masjid demolition.
