Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will investigate the recent plane crash that claimed the life of senior leader Ajit Pawar.

Fadnavis said the decision was taken after requests from political leaders and family members, who sought a transparent and independent probe into the incident. He added that he had discussed the matter with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the process to hand over the case to the CBI has been initiated.

The crash has already been under investigation by aviation authorities and the state police. However, demands for a CBI inquiry grew amid concerns that the incident may involve serious lapses and required a deeper examination.

Ajit Pawar’s family members have also called for a detailed probe to determine whether there were any technical failures or procedural errors linked to the crash.

The state government stated that a CBI investigation would help ensure clarity, transparency, and public confidence in the findings.
