Goregaon - While on the one hand the nation grapples with a shortage of currency in the wake of DeMo, a huge haul of Rs 34 crore in new currency notes was made recently.
There is a limit on cash withdrawal from banks and ATMs due to a shortage of new currency notes. And yet, if there has been a huge cash seizure of new notes, it needs to be probed, says Samajwadi Party state president Abu Azmi. Most of those involved in the cash seizure case are related to the BJP and the party needs to clarify its stand on this, he has said. The common man is finding it difficult to withdraw money from bank accounts, small businesses are facing problems and there is a feeling of recession in the market. And yet, big amounts are being seized from some people, he pointed out. Why is the BJP government is silent on this, asks Azmi.
