After the polling for Maharashtra assembly elections concluded, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed his confidence while saying that Bharatiya Janata Party and Shiv Sena alliance will get a two-third majority and will form the government against in the state. 

The voting in Maharashtra concluded on October 21 while the results for the assembly elections will be announced on October 24. 

In Maharashtra, as per the Election Commission, the voter turnout was recorded 61.1 per cent while in Mumbai, the voter turn out was merely 50.5 per cent. 

CM Fadnavis further said that BJP-Sena alliance will cross the 220-mark in the assembly polls. Several exit polls have also predicted comfortable victory for the Sena-BJP alliance. 

However, the opposition rejected the claims made by the exit polls and CM Fadnaivs saying that NCP and Congress alliance will form government in Maharashtra.

Senior NCP leader Jayant Patil said that his party will be the leading party and NCP-Congress alliance will come back to power. Patil further said that the exit polls are clearly biased towards the saffron alliance. However, there are no takers of the same.
