Ahead of the Maharashtra assembly elections result, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Wednesday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will not be able to form government in the state without Sena’s support.

Shiv Sena contested the assembly elections in Maharashrta in alliance with the BJP and most of the exit polls across TV channels and newspapers predict a clear majority for the BJP-Sena alliance.

Raut’s remarks come after the voting in Maharashtra for the assembly polls concluded on October 21 evening. Several exit polls suggest that the BJP can form the government in Maharashtra alone.

However, Shiv Sena claims that they will get 90 to 100 seats in the assembly elections.

Shiv Sena will get 100 seats but BJP alone can’t form its government even if Sena gets four or five seats. BJP-Sena alliance will win more than 200 seats in the assembly polls,” said Sanjay Raut.

In the Maharashtra assembly polls, Of the 288 assembly seats, Shiv Sena contested on 124 seats while BJP contested on 164. The simple majority mark to form a government in the state is 145 seats.
