Amid the ongoing conflict in Maharashtra over power-sharing, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday made an offer to its ally stating that Deputy Chief Minister post will be given to Shiv Sena along with 13 departments in the government.
However, along with the Chief Minister post, BJP intends to keep major portfolios including Home Ministry followed by Revenue, Finance, Agriculture, Housing and assembly speaker for themselves.
The specifics in the BJP’s offer to Sena have not been disclosed yet. In the previous government, the BJP gave 12 portfolios to Shiv Sena. However, BJP didn’t offer the Deputy CM post to Sena earlier.
At present, Shiv Sena is keen on pressing their demand for 50-50 power-sharing formula. However, Devendra Fadnavis clearly maintained that he will be the CM for the next five years while saying that BJP President Amit Shah never discussed the 50-50 formula.

Shiv Sena is also threatening to consider alternative options to form the government in Maharashtra. However, BJP leader Girish Mahajan says that there will be no swearing-in ceremony without Shiv Sena.
