While extending support for the women who raised ‘Free Kashmir’ placard during a protest at Gateway of India, Shiv Sena on Thursday lashed out at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Devendra Fadnavis for slamming Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

In its editorial published in ‘Saamana’, Shiv Sena attacked Fadnavis over his criticism of Uddhav Thackeray saying that there cannot be a “dirtier example of irresponsibility”.

Earlier, a writer named Mehak Prabhu who hails from Mumbai raised ‘Free Kashmir’ placard. The opposition termed it as “sedition”.

They attacked CM Uddhav Thackeray asking how this anti-national activity can happen right under his nose. The allegation was so silly that the opposition leaders made a mockery of themselves,” the editorial said.

In a sarcastic remark, Shiv Sena taunted the opposition saying, “this is not good for the state. We are worried about the opposition”.

After the controversy, Mehak Prabhu came out and gave a clarification that her intention for raising ‘Free Kashmir’ placard was to free the valley from internet bans and other restriction.

Extending its support, Shiv Sena wrote that a Maharashtrian woman understands the pain of Kashmiris while the opposition sees this is sedition.

If the opposition and its supporters feel that expressing yourself is sedition, it is not good for them and the country,” said Shiv Sena in its editorial.
