Recently, BJP MP Sambhaji Raje Chhatrapati questioned the role of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government stating that from the beginning, there has been no coordination in the role of the government regarding Maratha reservation. He also asked if the role of government changed from time to time and if it was thinking about a concrete plan for the same.

He further went on to add that the government should solve the issue of Maratha reservation responsibly rather than making it personal.

The statements were made while addressing a press conference on the issue of Maratha reservation, whereby he raised a number of questions on the MVA's performance, by adding that the issue of reservation of Maratha community has now come to the fore.

After the High Court declared the Maratha community as socially backward, the Supreme Court stayed the decision. As per reports, the final hearing will be held between March 15 and 25, 2021, and the role of government was not coordinated from the beginning. Sambhaji Raje Chhatrapati further asked if the role of government changed from time to time.

He demanded that there should be a detailed dialogue on the 102nd Amendment and the government should solve the issue of Maratha reservation. He said that he hasn't come up with a reservation issue this year, and it has been there for a long time.

Adding more to it, he said that since 2007, he have been  on this issue, and in 2013, a morcha was started at Azad Maidan under his leadership, post which, the  reservation given by Narayan Rane Committee did not last. Another protest followed in 2017,  in Mumbai, where he had to go on stage and asking people to return.

On the other hand, BJP MP Udayan Raje is said to have met leaders of various political parties on the issue of Maratha reservation a few days ago. Reports state that he has also demanded that the government issue a white paper on the issue of Maratha reservation.

The mentality of the rulers is not to give reservation to the Maratha community. There is no seriousness in the meetings regarding Maratha reservation, instead they are being used to to relax.
