In another major twist amid the ongoing political saga in Maharashtra, reports were doing rounds that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had approached Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) with an offer to induct the party chief Raj Thackeray’s son Amit Thackeray into the Eknath Shinde cabinet. However, both BJP and MNS have denied of any such development.

Denying such reports, MNS leader Sandeep Deshpande said that even if such a proposal was to be made, it would be turned down. On the other hand, BJP leaders stated that it seems highly unlikely that such an offer would be made to Raj Thackeray.

Later, on being asked about fielding Amit Thackeray against Aaditya Thackeray in future, the BJP leaders said that even on this count the strategy doesn’t match the upcoming plans of the party.

For those unversed, this political drama took place after Eknath Shinde disappeared and was not reachable since the midnight of Legislative elections.

The ruling Maharashtra government collapsed after Uddhav Thackeray resigned on Wednesday night, June 29. Later, on June 30, Shinde was sworn in as the chief minister of Maharashtra, while Fadnavis took oath as the deputy CM. After winning the trust vote on Monday, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had said he will need some time before he and Fadnavis discuss the allocation of cabinet portfolios.
