Sion - Bhartiya Janta Party organised the public rally in Sion Koliwada on 13 February. Ashish Shelar, BJP Mumbai Unit President presided over the rally. The point of attraction was the guest of the evening, Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu who came in Mumbai to campaign for the party.
Addressing a campaign rally for BJP in Sion, Naidu didn’t directly attack the ally, Shiv Sena,"The reason I came to Mumbai to the campaign is that Mumbai is a state in itself.
Naidu further added,"Centre gives money but there are leaks at the local level so give a full majority to BJP to prevent leakages."
Present along with Ashish Shelar, Venkaiah Naidu were MLA Capt. R Tamil Selvan, Corporator Rajshree Shirwadkar, the candidate from Sion Koliwada and party workers in huge attendance.
Shelar was very loud and clear when he said" Narendra in Delhi and Devendra in Mumbai must be together if one seeks development or else Mumbai will remain behind."
