There were expectations that senior leaders who narrowly lost the elections, such as Ravi Raja and Vinod Mishra, would be nominated. However, all parties have instead chosen individuals who were not given candidature in the 2026 BMC elections.
Funds and Powers
Nominated corporators receive an annual fund of INR 60 lakh from the BMC. They can utilise this fund anywhere across Mumbai. In contrast, elected corporators can use their allocated funds only within their respective wards.
