Bhandup – Women workers of the Congress Party staged an agitation here at the railway station to protest against the atrocities committed by the BJP-led central government. "We are firmly standing behind Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi. Action against Rahul Gandhi is highly condemnable," the Congress workers said. Priya Pande, president of Bhandup unit, and district president Supriya Kadam led the protest. Local residents said that this protest was a show of strength in Bhandup and attract the attention of senior leaders for the forthcoming municipal elections.
