Nariman Point - The power of social networks such as Twitter and Facebook is that they connect people and bring citizens close to their leaders. A number of political leaders using social media have grown immensely. Joining the league is Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis. In a programme organised in Yashwantrao Chavan centre on Monday evening, he was live on Facebook initiating 'Our City, Our Agenda'. Mumbai BJP President Ashish Shelar and BJP state President Raosaheb Danve were also present in the event.
A select group of 20 citizens who had sent in more than 7 lakh suggestions interacted with Fadnavis. The bunch comprised young professionals and entrepreneurs from Mumbai, Thane and other cities that would go to polls on February 21.
CM admitted that roads are not concrete in Mumbai when a participant asked the question on the dilapidated condition of roads in the city. Fadnavis said the BJP’s priority would be to provide efficient transport in each city.
The event was moderated by actress Pallavi Joshi. On one of her suggestions catering Bollywood, Fadnavis said,"“Bollywood isn’t just India. It has become international with a wide fan base. We may have Bollywood-themed streets, events, shows and carnivals in the city".
