Mumbai-  At a time when political parties of all hues are readying for a solo dance at the civic elections, a face off between the BJP and Shiv Sena honchos is sure to generate much interest.
The NCP has already announced its first list of candidates. The Shiv Sena and BJP are still taking potshots at each other in public functions, making no reference yet to a possible poll alliance. Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena has managed to get civic sanction to put up a portrait of Sena supremo Bal Thackeray's father, Prabodhankar Thackeray, in the BMC precincts. The unveiling is scheduled for 2 January 2017 - much before the election code of conduct kicks in. This portrait will be unveiled in the presence of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis. The occasion means Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and the CM will come face to face once more. It will be interesting to watch what transpires at this much public event.
