A day after the Union Budget 2022 was announced, Maharashtra Environment and Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray said that this budget looks more like a manifesto.

"In this budget mostly announcements are made and it will be important to see the outcome. Many cities are announced to be built as smart cities but no timeline has been given," Thackeray added.

Moreover, Aaditya Thackeray a day prior to the Budget session had also tweeted about its expectation. "My hope for EVs from the Union Budget: 1) A push for priority sector lending for EV 2) A liberalised and time bound taxation regime for clean mobility solutions," he tweeted.

Meanwhile, Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government led by the Shiv Sena left no stones unturned to criticise the Union Budget 2022 and mentioned that it was very disappointing for common man and salaried people.

Moreover, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar also took a jab at the Central government stating that there was nothing in store for the Maharashtra and middle class people of the state and the nation.

However, defending the BJP-led government at Centre, Leader of Opposition and former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that the budget is a leap forward towards making the country self-reliant and strong. He also remarked that it was holistic that accommodated the needs of important sectors and at the same time made provisions for challenges faced in India.
