Cong-NCP criticizes Coldplay concert

SHARES

Mumbai - The much awaited Coldplay concert which is scheduled on 19th November is stuck in politics. Congress and NCP have criticized the government asking how this concert is going to help the poor. Also, MMRDA has given 75% discount to the global Citizen organization, who are organisers of the event. Mumbai Congress President Sanjay Nirpuam alleged that state government is organising the concert for political benefits. Whereas, NCP leader Nawab Malik said that government does not back any Marathi programmes, in the way they are backing the concert. However, Congress leader Milind Deora took to Twitter saying that the concert is harmless. “Unwise to demand a ban on @coldplay. Musical concerts don’t determine elections. @INCIndia has always favoured a culturally vibrant Mumbai,” he wrote. However, BJP has kept mum on the whole episode. BJP’s spokesperson Madhu Chavhan and Ashish Shelar both refused to comment on the same.
